Our African Centered Learning (ACL) model is an educational philosophy grounding learners in cultural perspectives and values. It promotes an alternative approach to traditional educational paradigms by focusing on community, identity, and holistic development.

Rooted in the principles of Ubuntu, which emphasizes learners’ interconnectedness and mutual respect, encapsulating the idea of "I am because we are.” Inspiring a renewed outlook for opportunities, whether accepted or created, to be one of the many roots towards a successful educational and growing life experience.

Our philosophy of “no child left behind, no child left inside” has helped AFS to become a learner’s choice for education, fun, community service, social justice organizing, and gardening programs.
