Come to the most haunted street in all of Albany and see if you can make it down this repulsive road of fright! The Free School Jr. High, with the help of our neighborhood and school community, are putting together a safe and socially distanced version of our classic haunted house!

Per regulations all attendees must be wearing a proper mask regardless of any Halloween mask that is part of a costume. It is safer to just wear a Covid mask than to double up. Groups will go down Free School Haunted Hill according to who they are attending with, and we will not mix groups for the hill. We will have marked spacing on Philip Street where groups can safely wait.

The Free School’s 3rd, 4th and 5th graders share their photography with you at Albany's 1st Friday, opening June 7 from 5 p.m-8 p.m. at Albany Center Gallery's Arcade space (488 Broadway, Suite 107, Albany, NY 12207).

Teacher/Photographer Diana Morales challenged her students to take photographs of people, places and things around their South End school campus, with instructions to stop and think before they hit the shutter, explore their point of view, and make a conscious decision with their framing.

Students used 35 mm analogue cameras, color and black and white film.

Exhibitors include Finnoula - 5th Grade/10 year old; Sadie - 4th grade, 9 year old; Izzy - 3rd grade, 9 year old; Kamilah - 3rd grade, 8 year old and Diana, 4th & 5th grade teacher.

We are at it again folks! Tomorrow the Jr. High class is having their delicious and almost famous Pizza Night. All proceeds raised go to their service learning trip to Puerto Rico that is happening in just 3 week!!!

The 4th & 5th grade class is hosting our very first open mic night with live music, poetry, stand up comedy, dance & more.

All money raised goes directly to the 4th & 5th grade class trip fund. This class will be going to Rhode Island at the end of the school year for two nights. On this trip they will do a community service learning project.

Hey Families!!!!! Let Jr. High students at The Free School give you a break and support a fabulous date or non date night!!! Grab dinner with your love or buddy, take a nap, catch a movie, deep clean the fridge, stare into space peacefully, work on your dissertation or really anything you would like and will bring you joy!

We will make sure your child(ren) are well cared for while you have some time to yourself!

$20 for the four hours plus $10 for each sibling. This works out to $5 an hour for the first child and $2.50 per hour for each additional child. That is a pretty sweet deal.

Jr. High students have been spending some of their time this year taking care of little ones throughout the school day and they have been working our after school program making sure some of our youngest students are cared for after our regular school day. They are experts at story reading, guided play, little one conflict resolution, safety and clean up!!!!! RSVP at albanyfreeschool@gmail.com so we can make sure to have enough snacks!!!
